Molcajete Mexican Food in Missouri

"The food was great, served blazing hot, and in record time. This is a fine Mexican establishment. I was tickled by the painted brickwork. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. The chips and salsa were excellent. Wife said the nacho supreme didn't hit the spot but she's hard to please. Seemed the staff really cared about providing excellent service - waters were refilled quickly, checked on just enough. The place was nearly full on the Tuesday night we visited but we didn't see anyone have to wait. Seriously this place was fast."

"What a surprise to find this place in Excelsior Springs. This place is authentic and delicious. My wife had the enchiladas and I had the Molcajete de la Abuela. It was outstanding! The sauce was perfect, they give you plenty of food, and the meat was well seasoned and well cooked. We will definitely be back!"

"This is peak Mexican cuisine and a true fine dining experience. In all of my takes around Kansas City and the North East of the United States I'd not had better home made Mexican as of yet until I experienced fine dining at Molcajete Mexican Food. Our waiters were very polite an attentive, give them Sundays off for family and church time; these people deserve it with absolutely how delicious the food was and how polite our serves were. Thank you Molcajete of Excelsior Springs, Missouri! I will be returning soon with all my friends once again! 5/5 Stars."

"I've had this issue w/ them too many times. Service is hit or miss. The last time I ate there I had excellent service and he was tipped almost 50%. Today was another story. I requested, and did get extra salsa when my meal was served, but that was it. No check on me during the meal. No offer to refill my ice tea. No nothing. I received my check, though he did ask if I needed anything else. Well, my meal was done and I didn't need anything except a bit better service and it was too late. Service has been so bad that at times I've only left change. Check on me once or twice without hovering, refill my iced tea (I usually get water), and you must might get a pretty good tip. BTW. I am a solo diner and usually get water. Maybe if I was with someone else and/or drank alcohol (I don't drink), you might think that you would get a bigger tip. I go there because the food is better than other Mexican restaurants in the area."

"We were seated and served quickly. The entire menu sounded delicious. We had, chicken tacos, chili Redlands, and the NEW burrito bowl. All were top notch. THE BURRITO BOWL WAS TO DIE FOR. Great service. Atmosphere is subdued. Looks nice inside. Clean. Welcomed us at the door. Waiters were very professional. A birthday went own while we were there. They sang a song to the patron. Nice gesture. Restrooms ok. Outside sign easy to see and colorful. We are traveling restaurant rating and give this 5 stars all across."
